An extremely belated update!

Hi again
As I blow the dust off of this blog which hasn't been touched in a whopping nine months I am still trying to decide the specific route the content in this blog will take. For the time being it is just going to be a mishmash of things I am interested in.
This could include the games I am playing at the moment, updates on certain things in my life (how exciting...) and some gaming news which has caught my eye.
Another area I will  be dabbling in to test the water will be product reviews. Obviously as I wanted the general theme to remain gaming related the products in question will also be as such. The first review which will appear in the next few weeks will be a review on the Razer Blackwidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. I have been using the board now for around 2 months and am in the process of compiling my thoughts.

In other news I have finished college for the summer (yay!), hence the reason I actually have the time to write this right now, so expect more frequent posts here over the next few months.

If you get a chance you should also check out a website called ThatVideoGameBlog
I have been writing for them now for about 6 months, mainly writing short 150 word news pieces. The site is a great source for all the latest gaming news as well as publishing weekly features and occasionally the odd review tossed in for good measure. For a small site, the production value and efficiency is top notch so definitely give it a look. You can check that out here.

That's all for now so thanks for reading and... bye!

Introduction to me

Hi...
Never done anything like this before but "hi" seemed like a pretty inoffensive intro so let’s stick with that.
My name is Fraser Garrity, I am currently studying Journalism at Cardonald College in Glasgow, I live in a small town on the outskirts of the city called Torrance, I am 18 years old and my PIN number is... ah, I fear I have said too much.
The purpose of this blog, for the most part is to hone my writing skills as well as to talk about issues that I am interested in, such as technology in general along with some political discussions every once in a while, (a strange mix, i know). However the main focus will be on video games.
I am a massive fan of video games, from console shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty to PC games like World of Warcraft and StarCraft. Gaming has been a huge part of my life since I bought my first Gameboy for a quid at a car boot sale when i was 6. At that age moving blocks down the screen in Tetris was as exhilarating as a roller coaster ride. Okay, maybe that's a slight exaggeration but it was a heck of a lot of fun anyway. My first true gaming experience when i unboxed a brand new PlayStation 2 on Christmas morning in 2000. The joy of picking up the controller for the first time trumped anything i had experienced in my gigantic 7 year life span. Your move, Lego.
Presently I own an Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PSP and I am in the process of accumulating the funds for a gaming PC, (expect updates on the latter).
Over the years my passion for games has only increased and nowadays I love writing about the fastest growing media industry in the world.
So where am i going with this blog... who knows but I am excited none the less and I'll finish this little introduction like I did so in every primary school project I ever did. "I hope you enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it". Damn, I was good.
